Jo La Grouw senior was the founding partner, and the architect and engineer of this successful company for over 50 years. Jo developed house designs and innovative systems that turned the company into a market leader.
Jo’s son, Corgi La Grouw joined that company in 1967 and followed in his fathers footsteps in research and development. Corgi went on to play a major part in the operation of the company spending several years as General Manager/ Director, and joint Managing Director of the Group, culminating in becoming a major shareholder.
After committing 35 years of his life at Lockwood, Corgi La Grouw sold his shareholding to his brother in 1998.
Corgi continued his passion for research and development and in partnership with his son Brooke La Grouw and his builder friend Ivan Scott a new revolutionary solid timber building system “Touchwood®” was evolved.
Brooke inherited from his grandfather Jo La Grouw senior, the same technical passion for innovative, solid wood building products.
With ten years building solid wood homes in New Zealand, Korea and Japan, Brooke was instrumental in producing the Touchwood® registered designs, and now co-ordinates the computer building consent, construction drawings, detail construction manuals and product specifications.
